Seems like the mikaboshi aren’t actually villains seeing as how they are protecting their land and their life source. So the actual villains have been the bureau since the beginning. Now I’m rooting for the mikaboshi

As good as ever. Now we have to ask, what happened 1000 years ago to make the Soga clan push the Mikaboshi to the brink of extermination. And the Soga we know wasn’t the first to attempt genocide on the people. I wonder what the motivation will be, but it’s clearly obvious that there are no “good guys” or “bad guys” in this narrative. Just human nature showing its teeth.
