You might think that there would be ‘restrictions’ on selling pure iron ingots to a foreign country… from a weapons production point of view…?

Quick fact:
Pure iron is quite useless without any other elements mixed in, especially carbon, in fact it is pretty soft and rusts quickly, so without mixing some other metals like Mn or Ti, you can’t store it for long
