Did Subaru just pout after sending that cute gif? that’s Subaru!? i think I’m in love rn. okay but in all seriousness, this is the best secondary ship in romance manga I’ve ever read they are actually paying attention and giving development, depth and attention to the secondary ship WHILE not forgetting or tossing away the main couple which is great and tbh the best thing about Subaru&Saku is their chemistry it feel em effortless it feels like they are just naturally perfect for each other, of course not saying the main couple isn’t like that its just that they’re energy is different, they’re more aggressive? more open to teasing each other especially Subaru she feels way more open when with Saku while Kaoruko&Rintaro their vibe feels more soft, kind and cute its really hard to describe the vibe from these to ship into words but both of them are really beautiful and of course very well written and this is why this manga is the best romance series ever

Usually when I’m reading a romance I take a look at the couples. If it’s done right (like in this case) the main couple is like building a model. Lots of small pieces. You need to handle it with care. And sand the rough spots.
Secondary couples usually feel like shopping without a list. You just throw whatever catches your eye to the basket. Without a care, without thinking twice if you need it or it goes with whatever is already in the basket.
Well Subaru and Saku are NOT like that. The author cares. The author wants to show how they change and grow as people and how they start to feel attraction for each other.
And I’m loving EVERY SECOND OF IT.
This, people. This is a competent relationship with mature people who take responsibility of their feelings. Feels good after so many dense MCs and childish heroines (usually more than one for a single guy). Really love to see healthy relationships unfolding.
