I have always thought that Ri Boku is a coward. What he wants isn’t peace. What he really wants is a peaceful life but for himself. A life where he doesn’t have to dirty his own hands. Which is why he always opts for half solutions, and can never truly realise any vision he may have (for one, he won’t oppose a bad king, because he is the king, no matter how much of a nuisance he is).
