imho for an army, having a talented general without proper experience backing it is rather double-edge sword.
given the right strategies and tactics, sure they can win, but I’m sure the casualties will be immense, something a country could not afford.
military drills and exercises among allied nations in modern times exist specifically to give/train them with these experiences.
