Kingdom - Chapter 844
Comments for chapter "Chapter 844"
2.5 – Also the comment about how this is now childish because of the shounen aspect after 800 chapters of this is hilarious. We literally have kyoukai, a female fictional character that is able to slaughter men 3-4 times her weight and size by the dozen in mere seconds. Shin swings his poleaxe and sends a dozen enemies into the air, the weight of a dozen men and the strength to send them flying into the air is inhuman and supernatural. Or that Shin dies and Kyoukai used her shounen powers to literally resurrect him from the dead- that doesn’t bother you but Tou telling Shin he needs to kill Riboku in order to become a great general of the heavens is somehow the line where the story becomes shounen and childish lol. I don’t mind these elements in the story, I love the story for what it is but it’s just funny to me because the story already had shounen elements in it, yet you complain it’s ruined because of the shouneness of having one path for the MC to achieve their desires and not multiple.
I completely agree with the comment below but I will say what I think.
1 – This is around 230 BCE, a patriarchy dominant era where men lead the way and were celebrated for their achievements on the battlefield and women were regarded as supporters to their ambitions. Seeing it from this angle I can totally see why they would not acknowledge her as much. Like in the battle at Sai during the coalition war, Sei chose not to tell Ten of the mountain-folk reinforcements but told Shin and Shoubukun. I doubt Ten would have leaked the secret as the main tactician yet only Sei’s close male counterparts were informed. I feel like this is even more compounded by the fact Kyokai is part of the Hi Shin Unit instead of seperating herself from his unit.
2 – Tou speaks to Shin that given his battle history and the fact that he aims to become a great general, it’s obvious that to achieve that status he would need to end Riboku who in this tale is an enormously powerful enemy for Qin. Tou is basically steering shin towards that road because is the surest way to get where he wants to be by achieving something so great that the entirety of china would acknowledge him and that would be taking Riboku’s head. Regarding Tou’s retirement, I can see why he would choose to abandon the battlefield after warring for so long and losing his general which he now believes Shin is ready to succeed in his stead. I noticed he grew closer to the princess and I can see a possible romantic connection between them so i’m not mad he chooses to devote his life to helping her. I see him as a guide to the princess, to help her through her doubts, grief, and to unite the hearts of the people of Han and Qin. He shifts the weight of the unification of china unto Qin’s 3 rising stars and imbues Shin with the confidence he needs to take the task.I think this completely reasonable
2 annoying things for me this time around:
1- I have no idea why Kyou Kai is consistently ignored. She was the one who basically won the second battle almost all by herself, but only Shin is acknowledged, as always. It is fresh of good that a MC is not placed in the shadows for once, but i like Kyou Kai and believes that she always deserved better.
2- And now, there are shounen vibes.. Tou speaks as if no one could become a great general unless they deafeat Ri Boku… Plenty have become a great general without that. Mou Gou being one of those. It really feels like this shounen thing where you can’t become the pirate king unless you reach the last island or something… The appearance of this sudden outlandish condition feels much too childish for me to believe it is welcomed in a seinen like “Kingdom”.
Does anyone know when the next manga release is ?
I really hate that HOUKEN if not for him OUKI would be still alive doing the most gay prank fufufufufu.
Dammit i miss OUKI i also miss GOOFY TOU but the moment ouki die he didnt smile like before tou is about to clap princess thats the reason.
After basking in that speech and having both my feet planted firmly on the ground again, Shin’s true challenge to becoming a Great General is becoming a little smarter tactically.
I just need this to end before the author dies of some bullshit stuff😭 can’t have another berserk
Dammit let hurry this thing up and resume the invasion of zhao. FRAUD Riboku needs to die for our boy Rishin to become a 6GG.
Ever so close to the moment Shin is given the Title of Great General and his army start being in the 100,000’s, with generals under his command, all bread and nurtured in the Hi Shin Unit…. cant wait
I sense tou will become a governor and marry the princess
Tou’Force was op.
That look..! This is the turning point right there, when he becomes a candidate for great general status
“We still need you for the war!”
“SHIN! It’s a princess, Shin. I need to retire.”

Peak. Nuff said
