He owns the building. Everything he sells was already broken and discarded and he uses his own ‘skill’ to repair his stock. He has no outgoing expenses, so everything he makes from selling his ‘superior’ products for a good price is profit, and there’s no one knocking on his door for money. Why should he have to eat ‘nothing but bread for a little while’ because he bought her a bed ?
