If I were in the MC’s position I would first see how my stats are, you can do that just by punching the ground or trying to run, and once I do that I’ll see if can maaaybe have a chance against the big dude

Something I feel like people are missing, is that the MC most likely has no prior knowledge of how this kind of VR systems work. Most other stories like this, have a MC who references a manga, or anime they watched that reminds them of this type of stuff, but this MC has said nothing like that. It’s safe to assume that there are no stories or animes that have a character go through what the MC is going through. He assumes it would be like a regular video game, where your PC takes some damage but keeps going as if nothing happened at all. The second he fealt REAL pain, he went into panic mode and is trying to leave. Now he was a bit of an idiot before he went into the game, but that can be excused by him being so excited he just wants to get in and experience the VR.
