They still broke canon with the wyvern, though.

And hoped we forgot / don’t notice.

It has a new kind and custom ether reactor.
List of things how, and reasons why an new reactor wouldn’t happen:

The knowledge (programs) for the ether reactor (life script). While the bunny ear elves tried to teach it to many people over the millennia, very few got any far in it and broke it off when they realized they can’t work with mithril. The elves stopped teaching centuries ago for the same reason. Therefore there shouldn’t be any records left with conclusive instructions on that script.
You need to be able to manipulate mithril, as writing the script on normal silver would make it too large. But beside MC nobody ever found such method. Even more because of the elves have stopped teaching nobody now knows it’s made of mithril/ that mithril is more than a protective cover.
