Wrapping up loose ends, perhaps? Giving Yamai backstory as well as (kind of) rejecting her so that maybe, hopefully, she stops being creepy about Komi? Eventually? Clearly she isn’t stopping as of the end of this chapter, at least, from that last absurd comment. But still, there was at least some clarification of Komi’s lack of interest in her.
