Not surprised by Mc until now. Not many (good) people could stay quite facing a suffering child. Not many little girls wouldn’t say they love someone that is still a teen, is kind, powerful and saved their life.
And yes, he is lying to himself. He just wants to look cold.

People (like the person below) think that the mc is very cold and only does things if it benefits him, therefore, some of his actions doesn’t make sense in their minds.
But in reality he’s just tsundere.
Now it all makes sense
He only does help if it benefits him, so anyone he helps is indebted to him… but he doesn’t want any one to know that he healed the princess because it could be problematic if the if the king felt indebted to him?
Instead he let the princess owe him?
I also don’t get the “I don’t want attention stuff”. He is a nobody in this world, no one will go like “Wait, are you the summoned otherworlder?”
No one knows him…except the other otherworlder, and they do only barely, besides he is even in another country, so I doubt, they would know it if he became “famous”. Not to mention that he already is in disguise. Not that anyone would remember him if he let those ears and tail vanish
The author seems to really like this cringeworthy wanna be “Im cool n distant, but I don’t care style”
MC gets dumber with every chapter.
Also every loli seems to fall for his antisocial behavior at first sight, either the author has a fetish or doesn’t know how the world works.
There is a difference between charismatic cold and antisocial cold, primarly that you won’t get any chicks with the latter
