So the successor spent a whole week investigating the assassination of his predecessor only to come gather “guy in hood did it and used super magic. Must be Magnus.” If someone’s got high power magic and bold to assassinate in broad daylight in the middle of a city, you can bet a chunk of that city is going to make sure there’s no witnesses.
