So… tldr, the only reason he should sign this 3 year contract now… is to make use of the KPA to protect his family from the guilds and other countries… until he has amassed enough power and influence to protect them himself. Thats the only REAL reason. He is literally useless at this point of time when it comes to protecting his family.

Isn’t that still a ‘slave contract’ as the mc has to resign the contract after two years. That contract will have the ‘resign after two years’ clause again, so there is no difference.
