MC should be considered sus by the people of this town. We can see his thoughts, so we know he’s just a generous airhead without a lick of common sense. But to anyone in that world, he must seem to obviously be building a cult, recruiting only women, only needy, damaged people, taking them to live in his compound, and grabbing them younger and younger, all of them worshipping the ground he walks on. If this were about real people, I would not for a second believe that his intentions were good.
