All of the people in this comment section haven’t heard of character growth. It’s painfully obvious that the author is setting it up so that the MC can grow—in this case, learning humility and not being arrogant. Whether you like the way the author is doing it is another matter, although I do find it sad that people are just insulting the story for superficial reasons. The MC being arrogant is not a good reason to hate, a good reason to hate would be that the author hasn’t made it seem engaging or believable enough for the viewer.
If the author had made the MC gain some kind of power first, which would make him go power-hungry, and then made him learn humility, it would, in turn, be more believable. The MC already lost to the S-rank dude, so him being arrogant doesn’t make any sense.
Igris over here would probably kick his ass but will still lose for some bs..

this mc is has too much confidence and arrogant because he just gain levels and opportunity and he got already warned multiple times if you to be arrogant you should have power to hold it be cautious at all times and think a head as always not because you just got stronger recently and your head got bigger
