So, one thing I wish more authors would do, is let the alchemist’s controlled/owned flames be a part of their combat repertoire. It really lets the story get balanced out where alchemists are basically martial artists that instead of having heaven defying skills, they have skills they augment with their flames. And then, owning millennium flames (like the pill kings) also come with special attributes that are difficult to defend against through mere martial means.
