This is really not fair on the MC, he won the tournament and then is ambushed, people die because of him defending himself, he tries to talk them out of fighting several times and is forced to use a wide area attack to stop the bats which kills other people. But even the chacha has decided he’s bad and its been worded like they think he swapped places with Song just before the tournament or something which is also really annoying. Only the Dong siblings would know him beforehand everyone else has only seen fake Song

MC only killed like 50-100 BUT at the end the bats made him use a AOE attack that killed so many
if MC didnt like old pill master he would have killed him and then the bats would not attack
BUT this is to show how much the evil demon that MC was has changed
A SATISFYING ENDING OF AN ARC 🙂 
So, instead of one-shotting them by just ripping their hearts out he destroyed half of his wife town, killed 3 and wounded 1 of his enemies and a whole lot of civilians (who should’ve run away, not watch the show).
to be fair he did cause this by playing with them instead of just killing them after he powered up
