That whole development was cringe. The high and mighty demonic emperor somehow gets swept up by another’s pace just because. Couldn’t put two words and just followed along like a fool without understanding anything. Embarrassing really. And now that cringe ended up as the cornerstone of the whole plot and future events. And this won’t be the last time something like this happens.
Seriously, people out here saying the female characters are the problem? The waifus? NAH, MC is the Problem. He’s completely right that having women in his heart is a weakness in the Cultivation World. BUT MY GOD, did he forget how to rule as a leader? He’s literally destroying the Loyalties of his people, friends and allies to him and further isolating himself. Making it easier for his enemies to make people close to him betray him.
Some said this was a plan of MC to lure the enemy, but no, MC is literally just not able to control his emotions and mental state. He is just being frustrated and angry and lashing out at everyone. Zhou Yifan, Song Yun, no…. Zhou Fan has changed for the worst. He doesn’t know what to do at all.

I still don’t understand how emotionlessness is selfishness. Wouldn’t the actual demon’s path be wanting everything including what he’s forbidding himself? Ultimately it’s just his choice, and I don’t think the choice between girls and no girls is what makes a cultivator demonic, but that’s why I think he’s just coping hard.

I believe, out of the three, he loves Ning’er the least. Or at least only see’s her as a little sister. Why he shows so much affection to her and none to his actual wife, is because if she is with him, he knows her life will constantly be in danger. That is why he cares for Ning’er since yes he would be seething with rage at the death of a sister who he loves but not devastated. Also she is protected by a big house and should not be too much in danger

I think I can guess whats going to happen with his emotions and shit. He’s going to try to cut everything out but still have no success, then he’s going to have a “power of friendship” moment and whatever tf comes after that.
