Long ago, my spelunking team found a random hole carved in the rock. It was only wide enough for the skinniest people, of which I was one.
Being dumb, we decided to enter the hole. It was about a 15 meters long tunnel and at the end had a large, perfectly smooth chamber, big enough to hold maybe 5 people. Also perfectly enclosed on all sides except the tunnel.
I flipped on my big flashlight. The entire cavern was a massive crystal of quartz.
Anyway, I have never, and may never, see anything like it ever again. It was stunning.
(Nobody thought to take photos, I suspect because the oxygen level was low.)
