So why didn’t the King just execute the death penalty the 1st time, if he was this afraid of him? Did he use the Dungeon as an excuse to make it feel as if it was an accidental death, over an execution that would have made the entire empire aware that their greatest Mage was killed by the Emperor, which would have ruined the Emperor’s reputation?

It’s always funny in those stories where the MC finds not the golden spoon but the diamond one on a dirty road in the middle of nowhere.

Oh FFS, as if sealing his magic and locking him in an S-Rank dungeon isn’t a death penalty. What is with the logic of a 12 yr old, “I didn’t do it with my own hands so it’s not murder!”.
