Although it’s made to seem wholesome, I actually don’t like this. It’s branding them. They enjoy it. These kids think they’re being doted on and praised when, in fact, they are being marked by powerful figures and groomed for these lofty positions. Even if they kinda sorta understand, which not all of them do, they cannot possibly understand just how much danger they are in now. So this is just uncomfortable. There’s a lot of manipulation under the sweet and fluffy that is harder and harder to ignore the further in you get.
