In the novel, what he did… Yeah, it had a “dragon” and “earth” elements, but that’s the end of similarity. The dragon carved trenches in the earth, the bad guys fell in and were slowly crushed to death, then completely swallowed, leaving only their cries of pain behind. It was rather gruesome, and it’s an important detail that highlights the fact that Yuki, for all his happy-go-lucky antics, also has a few not-very-ethical, worrying traits… I mean, he’s good to children and even spared a crybaby hero, but before that he almost razed a whole town to the ground (and he was incomparably weaker then).
