Here me out, so you know how people have special attributes because of something with their body, like Xia Ning Chang (his wife with the veil) has the body which allows her to be a really really good alchemist, what if YK has one too which makes him incredibly lucky. And the reason he was not able to cultivate was because his luck lined him up on the course for all of these lucky things to happen, as if YK was able to cultivate to this level without a problem he would have missed many of these events.
