That’s the power of the Dao of Time. Actually, it’s not an illusion but more like time passing by Yang Kai slowly (it’s like his time is faster than the outside world, allowing him to achieve hundreds of years of hard-work cultivation). It can also fast-forward time for the target making them lose their vitality.
This is just my guess since I’ve already read it once,… it’s kinda similar to “Time Flies Seal” Divine ability of Flowing Time Great Emperor.
Dao of Time
Then the several friends may ask, how is it possible not to damaging the user vitality??
Well, Time Flies Seal is the ability to use Time Principle to make the enemy’s time passing by quicker causing them to age faster and lose their vitality (you know that when the cultivators lose their vitality, they will die of old age, and that’s why they need to break through to the next realm to prolong their age limit).
Well later on, Yang Xue will also use Time Principle to help restoring Yang Kai’s vitality without making him lose his abilities, skills, memories, experiences… (During the battle with the Demon race, a guy tries to raid the Flowing Time Temple in order to inherit the legacies, and Yang Kai follows him, but he uses Flowing Time Great Emperor’s artifact, the Infinite Hourglass, to deal with Yang Kai causing Yang Kai to get trapped inside a Time loop and lost his vitality (he gets older).
So based on this king’s theory: Yang Kai using the bead is actually causing him to spend a few hundreds of years of his age limit, and thats why he broke through to 3rd order. However, it doesn’t cause him to get older with an old-man’s look is cuz his vitality is still vigorous (which means, he’s still young compared to his age limit… his age limit is probably around 10,000 years old as he broke through to 2nd order Dao Source realm, so reducing a few hundred years of age ain’t much for him) Therefore, currently, his age is increased from 60+ to probably 100+ or 200+.

I’m curious, Yang Kai was trapped in that illusion for some time, and even broke through, does that mean he got older by a few years? Not that this matters when your lifespan is in the thousands of years, just that Flowing Time Great Emperor could make his enemies die of old age… I wonder how that works…
