Unfortunately MOST tattoos irl are slave tattoos to indicate ownership or “membership” to “unmentionable” organizations… which “don’t exist”… or to indicate tribal affiliation on battlefields and access secret clubs.

And a majority of the rest are people who make themselves ugly by brainlessly having random stuff drawn… or even intentionally having super ugly art and drawings to make themselves less desirable to human traffickers.

While originally it was for rune technology & functional purpose, or beauty (which enhance the beauty of the natural form), or symbology / reminders of life goal & purpose/ code /wisdom of living.
