I think that the guy that can’t smile apparently, is related to the guy that slayed the monkey. Well, related to the story of it if he’s being guided.

I don’t quite understand in which period of time this happens. Is it like 2010? Or is it more modern? There are 2 reasons why:
1) ANY phone is able to make an emergency call without a SIM card any time
2) ANY phone has built in GPS that works even without internet
So it’s confusing that they cannot call 110 (Japan emergency number) or see their position on the map
