Every important plot point of this story has required the MC to act foolishly, but we are to believe he is actually clever and decently smart. Quite poor storytelling.
And at least some important twists are presented by lying to the readers, making a previously omniscient storyteller just skip important details. Also poor storytelling.
I just wish more of these authors would bother with the pure craft of storytelling. It’s not like there’s a dearth of good resources on how to craft and present stories…
