actors mostly avoid making eye contact during scenes close up scenes, because if you’re looking into someone’s eyes while acting you might get distracted, break character, act awkward, or give creepy vibes to your co-actor
So most of the times when actors are doing scenes looking at each other they’re looking at each other’s nose or ear or something so it gives the illusion of eye contact on camera without the actual eye contact
