Actually a great point, if you want to become not only physically stronger but also more skill with martial arts and weapons, it best not to bulk up like a bodybuilder. Modern bodybuilding focus mostly on mass and how you look, there are still strength aspects but at 1 point, your body mass hinder your skills. It best to train simultaneously bodybuilding for strength, but not fully bulking, calisthenics for muscles control, body conditioning for specific martial arts and practical skills for martial arts.

have to disagree with this assessment, and i have history to back me up. The Mongols were taller, stronger, and a better military back in the day. If you were to compare them to the rest of the soldiers at that time, it would be like comparing space marines to imperial guard. The Mongols were taller than their counterparts thanks to their diet of horse cheese and lean horsemeat.
The secret of their success was better diet. We see this in the archelogy and in the writings of the historians. “History is written by the winners” is communist propaganda. History is also written by the regretful and they had a LOT to write, from China, India, the Middle East, AND Europe.
An army of well fed, well trained Olympic body builders would crush every army at that time, the mogging alone would be catastrophic psychological warfare.
