I think Miyo’s ability is to free the trapped souls of the ability users that turned into spirits. fell chapters back she tells us that she’s been dreaming about people suffering and screaming.

well with this new info it may be possible that Miyo may be related to the royal family as both have black hair and have various similarities and if you think about it all of Miyo’s dreams have been about disasters, this could explain why the emperor is so adamant in exterminating her family as Miyo may be a branch off of the royal lineage
