I can deal with the rest of the stuff that happened, as all that’s still plausible, but … is there no law enforcement, at all?
I mean, we’ve got the Empire’s “hero” here, in full regalia, attacking a high-ranking and well-respected citizen of the kingdom, in his own home, on kingdom soil, and a member of said kingdom’s armed forces, tries to kill him and take his legally purchased property?
And nobody bats an eye?
Please, please, tell me somebody filed a complaint with the guild master and put The Empire’s shenanigans through proper channels.
Because if The Empire can openly send troops into other countries and engage in acts of war without consequence, why hasn’t anyone done the same to The Empire.
And how the heck can society be anywhere near stable when soldiers from other countries can go house to house and steal, kill, maim, etc?
