From what I see, our boi Harold managed to keep Cody’s squad & the Starchant Stellar Tribe from being annihilated which was caused by the Salient Empire’s soldiers in the Beltic Forest War & might be some backside dealings from the kingdom that Harold live (With Justus & Harrison the Minister of the Army).
He became the scapegoat to ensure that scandal is burried & somewhat become’s Justus assistant / guinea pig for his experimentations all the while being kept also a close eye by the Astral Research Institute (for all those 5 years time skip).
I’m sure there will be some sort of flashback we will see during those 5 years & since Cody’s unit didn’t got killed, I bet our boi Harold will be the one whom created the support group Frieri for the “main characters” of the “Brave Heart” game.
He was distancing himself from them to protect them from his reputation as a traitor and remove suspicion against them. This is a self sacrifice move not him randomly being a jerk.
What happened in those five years? Besides getting his ear pierced I mean
No way this manga have a slow plot but It was good not boring like the others no frickin way you just end it like this
you should just be glad in this manga it only take 50 chapters to get here. let me tell you i get here in the novel and… it took a lot longer. well, also it was very poorly translated in later chapters so it also got unreadable… i feel like i finally understand what’s happening…
