Games should take away the right to use f2p in the game name when ever the player have bought even the cheapest thing in the game for real money. Never mind that the games you need to buy to start to play cant be considered as free to play. F2P is for mobile games only basically.
I am a f2p in asphalt9 game and started close to 6 years ago. I must be mentally really damaged to spend money on these games that dont offer you nothing for the money. First year in A9 was like some guy spend around 4400 euro to just get 1 car and max it. Also no point to start to play f2p games when these being out for a year as you wont never catch up and will always be missing a lot cause these games dont bring back old events and are only built to rob the whales
Servers closing is seriously something that turned me off of MMORPGs. All that time, work, achievement just — zeroed out.
In the past I’ve contacted companies to see if I could buy the server-side programs from them to run a private server, with a no-monetary-gain contract clause, no advertising I had it, etc. Nothing. And then years later they sell the rights to some other company but they make you start from scratch because now they really made it pay to progress (forget winning, can’t even play the game – like all mobile games today). It both infuriated me and made me sick. Because I know there’s people out there that were going to see their favorite game with thousands of hours revived, only to find out they’d never get to what they had without dropping thousands and thousands of dollars.
To me it’s like if your wife died in a car accident then a few years later you find out she actually lived, got married to a giant douche, and sues you for alimony, and lives across the street.
