Allow me to make a casual prediction:
this is a named character, masked and seemingly built quite well, that is being sent as an assassin.
there are only two outcomes I can see.
either the assassin (eventually) dies after giving our lovely MC a relatively hard time,
or more likely, the assassin gets converted to the MC’s side.
