Gail really has to stop cursing people without telling them. I’m not even joking. Maura’s allegory about him being a nobleman is spot on and basically the sailors would have to constantly rely on Gail, though that can be seen as a trade off for such a fast and valuable ship.

The warming smile of letting the undead rest in peace. The up most respect when sending off the souls of said undead. The smile of a man who sees a whole trove of undead bones, skulls and other little trinkets as well as a whole ass ghost ship, liike he has just won the jackpot. Priceless.
