This isn’t unreasonable. There are plenty of people who are unable to even hear things that disagree with core beliefs, let alone comprehend them. Just look at creationists – have you EVER heard any of them give an accurate description of what evolution is and how it works? I certainly haven’t. Hell, the majority of them believe it’s a worldview on par with their religion, which it totally is not.
In MC’s case, he’s been gaslight into believing he’s worthless for so long and beat down for it that it’s natural he still feels he’s useless; even when the evidence is right in front of him and his new friend is repeatedly telling him that was all him. The only cure for gaslighting is time.
So don’t look at this situation as some stupid gimmick. Instead, try viewing it as a victim slowly recovering from years of emotional trauma and abuse.

Dense at beginning is good and all but if still goes on till day ch. 20, nah man I am out. It feels irritating and boring to see same densed black character every chapter even if it’s mc. Like the girl atleast knows the potential power so if she can’t make him understand then….

if he doesnt start realizing his power in like 10 chapters im dropping this cause i cant with mangas that extend this shit over 100 chapters it just gets so frustrating

this boy doesn’t know what is normal and what is not normal, nobody teaches him so we the reader get quite fast annoyed or whatever and just complaint about it. However if we all were reincarnated and our mind of this life get’s erased and live the life of this young boy, i’m mostly sure most of us would be clueless as hell like him.
This is typical. But please, I ask that this break the cycle and that there is someone with enough brain to deign to explain in detail that he is actually very powerful. Please
