he was a real hero and he was trying to protect his son he care (MC) but he use the reversal many times and he lose his mind he didn’t know whats wrong and right 
It would have been better if the author/scriptwriter had explained why we’re getting this flashback better. As it is there seems to be no real reason to include it despite how good the backstory is.
