It foreshadowed this when he first entered the cave and the body was reacting because there was already someone inside.
Most overused plot twist ever some random third-party sneaks in and steals the treasure while the main two parts fight.

That does not make much sense, they clearly had a chest to hold the essence core and were like “shit he is here, we haven’t retrieved the core yet”. Well it’s probably artist mistake and not author but it bugged be. At least it truly was unexpected
