So this is medieval setting and a guy has a modern looking adjustable spanner which was invented within last 150 years and takes somewhat advanced material and metal prosessing techniques to produce.
These kind of things are great way to break immersion because it looks so out of place. Like someone suddenly holding a modern looking firearm or any other thing that does not fit the setting.
