Personally, I dont think secretive plotter is the author because in the verrryyyy beginning, there were remarks about how he was questioning and surprised by the mc’s existence. Not to mention I’m like 90% sure he couldn’t see through the black squares.
Maybe it’ll be retconned, but I feel like the author (the irl one) would have thought ahead on the identity of this mysterious figure
