Can someone that have not managed the building of a cathedral speak about the personality of the master mason or architect? What an individual do during their life forms who they are. A metaphor would be that the same birch tree seed would grow up to become a very different based on the soil and the climate and the exposure to the sun and other plants and animals around it, its root will be different, it branches grow in different directions and the amount of leaves and flowers. When authors try to tell the story of an elder dragon, an existence comparable to a deity it is not an easy task and I feel this story falls short of making it believable. For example the interaction between a dragon and a human if we find an equivalence would be between a human and a dragonfly. The difference in intelligence, lifespan, power mm are all comparable. We as humans are mostly indifferent to the existence of insects and consider them as pests when they enter our domain. Sure there are some few humans that study insects and love them, but it is very hard for us to understand and relate to them without anthropomorphizing insects.
