I’m thinking how they erased Void century was kinda similar to George Orwell’s 1984. Same with Big brother in the story and Ingsoc, they rewrote everything. Kinda cool.

My best guess.
Two brothers of gargantuan powers unite the 20 kingdoms under their banner.
The 20 kingdoms were against those brother’s kind, but they lost the war, against the common enemy of humanity.
They don’t want to openly rule, they might be actual demons. It would play nicely along the lines of the demon fruits.
The 20 kings save face, rewriting history, but in reality, they lost, and humanity got punished somehow (for example technology lost). To erase the fact that they were in war against an opponent that won, and now humanity is in chains, they erase any memories of what happened in the past.
Both of the brothers fall in love with Lilith.
One of them is more brutal, and seemingly more powerful, he has the respect of the other 19 kings to become their highlord.
The other, is more fair, and doesn’t like his brother choices. He has the love of Lilith.
Lilith and his lover run, deciding not to join the other brother plans for world domination.
They are attacked in their way back to arabasta.
They survive, but decide not to go back to arabasta to not cause problems in the kingdom, in any case they keep working in the shadows to end the other brother’s rule. The D. Family tree starts with them.

If Charlos had died form that, I think one of the most read and popular shonen manga has just displayed one of the most grotesque and gruesome deaths in the genre.
For this reason, I suppose Charlos is very much alive.
And if Ym, whatever it is, doesn’t care about showing itself in front of a king, suddenly it feels as if the elders were somewhat of a… control measure, to lead the world government in place of Ym to avoid constant massacres on the whim of an ineffable entity
here are my theories
- Imu is Lili because if Lili didn’t come back from Marie Geoise that means she’s still there and maybe she fell into darkness, forgot about her past, and dubbed herself Imu. That would make sense cause when Imu says “lili” it sounds like he is remembering something.
- Maybe Lili is dead or trapped in the dungeons because Imu is either obsessed or she conspired with JoyBoy, this is viable cause if one of the 20 kingdoms betrayed the world government they would surely remove the sword of that kingdom right? But then again if one of the kingdoms betrayed them why didn’t they just destroy the entire kingdom???
That mfkin Charlos is probably still alive. He’s got pretty thick plot armor. But If he is dead, then much better. Someone has to teach those entitled mfkers some harsh realities.
it would be more fun if lili was the reson of imu becoming like this iguess?
