The abyss seems to grant mythical zoan powers to whoever have traveled there.
5 elders and god knight have entered it, so they can channel their powers by turning into abyssal monsters(big worm, spider, skeletal horses) which is almost on par with real mythical zoan devil fruit powers.
abyss? so the holy land is not just home for the celestial dragon? there’s a separate place called Abyss.
from the looks of it, ppl with a mark can travel from Elbaf through the abyss to go to the holy land.
So maybe, the summoning is not actually a stereotype summoning. maybe it’s related to this abyss place.
and summoning is more like those who control the path in the abyss could designate who to send and the destination, but they need someone on the other end to open the space door (thus summoning)
from the dialogue, there might ACTUALLY be an enemy for the god’s knights somewhere.
and they are in dire need of recruiting new god’s knights, making them coercing loki to join them, and even thinking of kidnapping the Elbaf children (that is if the ‘kids’ and ‘brats’ do indeed refer to the Elbaf kids as implied in the panel.
this could explain why they never get involved in world affairs easily and why Dragon says it would be a serious matter if the god’s knights got involved. since they are rather short in manpower

I’m starting to think BlackBeards Yami-Yami interacts with this Abyss. Maybe it’s true name has also been hidden from history and the things absorbed by his darkness are sent to this abyss
