so it is not much of “cannot be trained and innately born with it” as in only the chosen one can use conquerer haki
but rather the fundamental belief in one’s sense of self is something genuinely an innate trait. the weak willed don’t have that strong belief. it is a trait of character’s innate psyche, fortitude and toughness we are born and “nurtured” with.as we grow.
maybe that’s what the sentence was meant to mean. not in the literal sense of chosen one but the innate trait of one character. if it is strong they can produce conquerer haki, if they are weak or indecisive, they lose/weaken the haki

This life & death supposed to be is golden practice chance to Zoro.
As Protagonist, when else he has unlimited living flesh to slash before this.
We all know that until he wear his bandana Zoro is just training..
And when he put it he’s getting serious as Hell or Hellking for him ! ^_^
Now only Sanji left. I beleve he is going to lern within few chapters, becouse wouldn’t it look bad if luffy left hand man can’t even defeat a single holy knigt, how is he going to help luffy in the war.
Old Zoro mentality: “As Luffy’s right-hand man, I will cut down anyone who gets in his way.”
Conqueror’s Haki Zoro mentality: “As the strongest swordsman in the world, I will cut down anyone who opposes me or gets in my way.”
I hope Zoro can keep control of his Conqueror’s Haki, because the very nature of a Conqueror’s will doesn’t really play nicely with multiple Conquerors working together (Luffy being the main exception so far).
