Orcs raid and pillage human settlements, kill humans, maybe eat them or worse. This means Orcs are the enemy; they are a natural predator to humans.
Humans in our world drove their predators to near extinction; mercy is a privilege we take for granted in the modern day, made possible because we have tamed much of the wilds and subjugated our predators to be glorified pets in zoos. The peace you take for granted now was built on mountains of human bones.
Peace and tranquility can be achieved only after the crusade has ended.
