So 99% items, class and skills are useless because epic class will overpower you? I don’t see any game balance here. Even if you’re a 1000 lvl player, if you choose a common class then an epic 400 lvl can annihilate you. Are you sure EA or UBISOFT didn’t develop this game?
10,000 different classes?
You’d have to start adding nonsensical adjectives to get to that point.
And, being a “ranker” in a “class” now isn’t anything special. Say 10,000,000 people play the game, averages out to 1,000 people per class. Being top 100 out of 1,000 is laughable.
This is the problem with lazy world building. You end up with inconsistencies.
A better idea would have been saying there’s a hundred or so primary classes (I’m assuming you can be all sorts of weird stuff like cooks, bakers, cobblers, stablehands)[primary classes would be ones worth tracking ranks for] that branch out into over 10,000 subvariants.
That way, both Bloody Spearman, Spearman of the North Wind, Toothpick Spearman can all be “unique” “classes” but would all be ranked under the parent class of “Spearman / Polearm”.
There’s NO POINT in including nonsensical information like “over 10,000 classes” if YOU AREN’T UTILIZING THAT IN THE STORY. Clearly we aren’t seeing any of this huge variation of creativity the author wanted to put forth. Therefore, LAZY world building.
