In the castle probably lives the only other dude…
some mad king that keeps procreating all day long, kills all boys that are born and send girls out in the world, after wiping their memory.
May be he will see Mc as an rival or his only successor.

I’ve given my crystal ball a rub and seen a cloudy vision that the castle is really a ‘stud’ farm full of chained up ‘other world’ dudes who spend their days on the ‘production line doing the necessary to provide babies. I couldn’t say if they were in 5* accommodation or the dungeon though. Or maybe I just need a new crystal ball…
