Nah, he will suck once they encounter a group of medium or single strong enemy because magic eng can’t stack damage. That’s a common trope for “adventurer type” classes.
eloka Shouldn’t worry too much, a high burst and aoe dmg hero will always be of use, though in a game like this where heroes think for themselves, a versatile support mage is more useful since it’s all dps. What I think the best option would be is to make eloka and the support mage to learn basic cqc skills and have two mages. However that would mean the front line is weaker, therefore enemies might get pass. Honestly, everything is very situational like if it’s a castle defence then having eloka would be the best, if it’s a protect mission, support would be better. Also a problem of sustainability vs higher dmg.

Eolka while extremely powerful isn’t very versatile.. she’s gonna learn some new spells, for sure…
Hot damn, now I want him in my ironman run, get in here dude I need your utility. Anyways so that’s it? I didn’t mean to completely change the roster for good like what I said last chapter but… this is really bad for Eolka trying to go back to team 1. And that background story could mean either evolution… or death flag.

I do feel for Eolka a bit but she can honestly learn from him, like that mana propeller, pure mana manipulation no element required, that should be something every mage can do.
Plus she started to learn telekinesis, she should spend more time on that; it is more useful than fire in most situations.
What is author doing with our Eolka?
