Okay, hear me out. Guests are usually killed and eaten, maybe, so I think MC is actually part of the family, which would explain why the table that they eat at perfectly aligns for one more person to sit at. What I think is that the MC managed to escape before, but the dock close to that place has a guard put in place by the family, so he was Knocked out and placed back on the island.
But he got amnesia, so the girl seen this as the perfect chance to use him to get off the island herself, but she doesn’t know about the guard, so when she gets there, she will be knocked out and placed back on the island just like him. This would explain why the family laughed at the thought of her not coming back.Oh and mc has black hair or something.
This theory is not full proof at all as in I am like 0.5 percent sure this is the case but who knows.
