The hate from South Korea to North Korea is always boiling over the edge. Like in all of manhwa North Korea is gone or in worst conditions. I would imagine in real life if something like this happens to the world the South Korea be in that position as North Korea is not under the shoe of US and have stronger military force to survive. Never mind the conditions they live in there will make a lot more stronger people then in South Korea that is as soft as western world. The conditions North Korea civilians are in cant be said they are weak.
